In the United States 2000 Census, the township had a total population of 69,965, making it the 13th-largest municipality in New Jersey. As of 2006, the township had an estimated population of 71,586. Cherry Hill is in the Delaware Valley coastal plain about five miles outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Cherry Hill is considered an edge city of Philadelphia.
